I woke up full of energy this morning. With a to-do list that would have stymied a lesser woman, I knew I would have no problem knocking it out over my lunch hour and after work:
But it was cold and rainy all day; that steady, chilly rain that seeps into your bones.
Because it was cold and rainy, I stayed in the office, had a Lean Cuisine and surfed the internet at lunch.
Because it was cold and rainy, I went straight home after work, changed into my sweats, snuggled up under my down comforter with a pack of Little Debbie brownies and watched TV all evening.
I know I could have conquered every, single item on my list because I was really, really motivated this morning.
If only it hadn’t been such a cold and rainy day.
Maybe tomorrow will be sunny.
I love “GOT TO lose 20 lbs by wedding (1 1/2 weeks)” And that is quite a daunting lunch list you’ve got there. You must be superwoman.

Thanks! It just occured to me that I don’t have any patio furniture. Damn!

Don’t worry about the lawn furniture. It may be hot and/or rainy so you can be indoors in the AC! But really, I know it will be great, no matter WHAT the weather, because of the company joining you.
And, as for lists, I’ve got a new one going every few days. Should see the one for the upcoming trip. Gak…

I know what you mean. I’ve just started the really heavy planning, and got some shoes over lunch. Now I’ll be wearing them for a week to break them in.

I think I love you. No homo.
Totally identify with items about plants… valiantly attempting to keep mine alive – getting pissed @ Mother Nature who apparently thinks it’s funny to throw down rain when I’ve finally remembered to water them, but withhold sun, which I can’t produce. Also, can I get that cherry cake recipe too?

1.Put 4 cups mini marshmallows in bottom of sprayed 13×9 pan.
2. Make yellow cake mix according to package, pour over top.
3. Spoon 21oz can cherry pie filling over top.
4. Bake at 350 for 30-35 min.
According to the 90 year old woman who gave this recipe to me, the marshmallows melt and rise to the top to glaze the cake. I’ll let you know how it works out after the cookout.
Good luck getting those plants into the ground. Mine are all still sitting on the patio, but I did buy the potting soil after all last night – it stopped raining for a bit.

FYI, I made this cake. Some people really liked it (or at least said they did), but I wasn’t impressed. You’d think you could trust a 90-year-old lady to have a great recipe. Jeesh.

Your post made me feel better. I have been in total sloth mode with the cold, dreary weather.

I’m impressed that you typed your to-do list! That’s plenty of activity for one day.

I find I can often get that feeling of accomplishment just from careful planning ,without having to go to all the trouble of actually doing.

I’d be curled up with my comforter too if I had that list! I find there’s a lot less pressure if I just keep a mental list…that way, nobody but me knows what I did or didn’t do…
Have fun at the wedding and on your vacation!

The problem with the mental list is then I don’t know what to do either, as you will find out once you pass the 50 mark 🙂

Uh-huh, Uh-huh. Just make sure the frankfurters are “Nathan’s,” and not those cheap “Scott Peterson” wieners…
